Upcoming release and new features FCLage 2006/8/2

We're working hard so we can provide you the best in the multimedia world.
New features will be ready on next release candidate, so RC5 will include:

  • Transparent multiplexing from Google Videos - You'll be able to play GoogleVideo files (*.GVI) directly in your players without any reencoding at all!

    • You'll be able to watch videos from Internet EzLink servers
      (example: a friend of yours can share videos with you and vice versa, so you can play them your living room player directly from your friend's home using EzLink NG)

EzLink NG RC4 - UPnP MediaServer FCLage 2006/5/23

EzLink RC4 was released.

This new version introduces the UPnP MediaServer extensions, enabling UPnP players such as Snazio NetDVD, Zensonic Z500, KiSS DP-600 and many more to access your PC contents.

In this version, transcoding has been improved for low-memory usage, compatibility and speed (including for older players like KiSS DP-500 and DP-1500).
You can now choose any MPEG-4 codec (XViD, DivX6, etc) for transcoding the original movie that your player doesn't support. Some transcoding file extensions were also added to the list such as "3gp", "dvr-ms", "rmvb" and more...

There were also improvements in both speed, and stability in this new version, and bugfixes (all subclassing calls used in EzLink NG are now compatible with DEP compliant CPU's).

EzLink NG RC3 uploaded FCLage 2006/2/11
A new version has been uploaded

EzLink NG "RC3":
Among other things, EzLink NG now has a simple mode and an advanced mode so you can choose what you like better. It also features ISO 9660 support (for ISO and NRG files) enabling you to files directly from inside this files without the need to map them as a drive on your PC. The browsing is fully transparent. The new installer with international support is also available. If you already have it installed, don't worry, it will make a self-update.

Many bugs were squashed in this new version, for example: 1st Generation Syabas players (like Momitsu V880N, Transtechnology DVX-500e) can now enjoy Video Reencoding on the Fly playing all kinds of contents, static lists now work, WPL playlists have been fixed, and so many more bugs were killed.

There are also improvements in subtitle handling (now called 'Smart subtitle'), UPnP extensions and security, speed, stability, library system, and more. This RC3 version should be updated regulary now (about 1 new version per week) adding new features and fixing existing bugs.

EzLink NG "RC4" will add more UPnP and it will support Zensonic Z500, and a new browsing system for all other UPnP players (like Snazio NetDVD, LinkTheater, etc). It will also include a new reencode method that uses no memory at all, and improvements in KML and Syabas navigation.

EzLink NG "RC5" will add multi-language support: English, Portuguese, French, Danish, Dutch, German, and probably other languages should be included in this release.
New versions FCLage 2005/12/28
Soon, a new EzLink NG RC3 (Release candidate 3) version will be made available to everyone featuring a new EzLink NG manager, with a very simple user interface.

Among other things, RC3 will include improved Syabas navigation, bugfixes, new reencoding functions based on ffdshow (avoiding the msmpeg codec requirement).
Shortly after this release, RC4 will come adding new UPnP AV extensions providing a new (and faster) browsing method for UPnP players like Snazzio, Zensonic Z500 and many others.
RC5 will add multi-language support (French, Portuguese, Italian, German, Greek, Danish, and more). It will also include a detailed manual, and a help file.

A new version is now available

• Fixed bug that requested player reconnect when running in single folder mode

EzLink NG Release Candidate 1 FCLage 2005/8/3

It's finally here!
After more than one and a half years investing in this project, I can finally say that it's here!
Many things will be improved and added over the next weeks and months (performance, more functions, etc) but this is the (first) official Release Candidate 1.
If you already have tried EzLink NG and wish to get a permanent license code, you can get it here .

Release notes (changes from previous version):

  • Automatic video Reencoding on the fly
    • QPEL
    • Intel Indeo
    • MJPG
    • RLE, and other AVI fourcc’s as long as you have the codec in your system
    • Windows Media Video
    • ASF
    • OGG Media (requires directshow filter plugin)
    • RealMedia (requires directshow filter plugin)

      To activate VROTF; you need to make sure that your machine is capable (in software terms) to reencode video and audio. Those tests are only required once and are done when EzLink Manager starts and user selects that he wants VROTF enabled.
  • New 64-bit file functions enabling you to stream files up to 922 PBytes in size each (around 922 million GBytes) – instead of 2GB limit of old version. Faster in some cases.
  • Improved subtitle detection, and fixed some bugs in subtitle binding
  • Improved library functions
  • Improved stability of both service and manager
  • Improved WMA tag reading – all tags are reported now
  • Improved MP3’s tag reading – less garbage, more information
  • Improved AVI file information – much faster, much safer (no API calls)

      (ex: OGM, MOV, RM don’t have to checkout for VROTF to be activated)

    • MKV reencoding isn’t working properly.
      I suspect some problems with Matroska directshow filters.

EzLink NG RC1 delayed FCLage 2005/7/13
EzLink NG (ReleaseCandidate 1) is taking me a little more time than I've expected.

Probably because I've decided to redesign the entire KML/HTML browsing ;)

Many bugs have been cought and wiped off the code, but there are some others that need further attention.
Among them are: subtitle handling and detection, scan of some files, network playback in HTML players (it's being redesigned almost from scratch), Playlist handling, NT service mode startup, and other things.


What will be new:
On next release, you'll be able to find media files (musics, etc) using a complete KML Keyboard displayed on screen... It's very fast to type, unlike all others I've seen on other KML pages (i use my own method that is only possible with EZK)
I'm also implementing 64-bit calls for file handling, enabling you to access files that are over 700 TBytes in size (give or take a couple of gbytes), avoiding the problem of playing VOB's > 2GB in current release.
About VROTF, you'll be amazed with what you'll be able to play even with your old DP-500 or even with your new DP-558 ;). I won't say anything else about this ... I don't want to spoil the surprise when RC1 is here ;)

Many PRO users have been emailing me about their PRO key not working anymore, so I'll clear up this subject again:
Previous PRO keys don't work anymore with the latest EzLink NG version, due to the following:
a) I found an underground keymaker and I had to change encryption method
b) EzLink NG isn't alpha anymore!
Everyone including me is using demonstration keys that give full access for 30 days. After those 30 days are over, just request a new key using a different email address.
When this EzLink NG RC1 is released, you'll be able to upgrade your PRO key to a valid NG licence.
Basically, the full keymaker isn’t done yet, so as long as the application isn't official released you can request as many demonstration keys as you like.

A new release date will be announced, but this version is STILL expected to be released this month - July.

    I found an underground warez keymaker and I had to change encryption method This new version allows you to get a 31 day key automatically. Use it. Even I am using one :)
    After 30 days, just request a new key using a different email (or use a fake one, you shouldn't worry about it).
    The full keymaker isn’t done yet, so basically as long as the application isn't official released you’ll be able to request unlimited demonstration keys.

A new EzLink NG Alpha 4 version is being tested with the following changes from current public version:

Compatibility and other news FCLage 2005/5/18
I would like to thank HiJack for testing the latest EzLink NG pre-alpha 4 version in Buffalo's LinkTheater player.
I can now confirm that this new player from Buffalo Technology is also compatible with EzLink NG's MultimediaCenter extensions.
These are indeed great news :)

On another update, EzLink NG will be updated by the end of this week, fixing some bugs and implementing some new features, including custom webradio stations and RSS news feeds, enabling KML and HTML players to play webradios (even while browsing pictures and other things) and watch news feeds from your favorite sites using RSS news feeds.

One other cool thing is that I've finished implementing ICY extensions to EzLink NG service, making playing of audio files possible in KiSS players using KML.

Even though my DP-558 is still being repaired, I'm going to release it even though I have no means to test it with DP-558.
Some new features include full FF/RR with DVX-500e, completely new internal structure and security implementations, Simple/Advanced modes in EzLink Manager, more KML EZK scripts, Webradio personal stations, EZK KML reporting (pages like: Script Error, File not found, etc are reported in KML if client non-HTML), new EZK Picture functions allow alpha pictures, picture rotation, hue;brightness;contrast adjusment, alpha-angled-gradients, new function allows to grab ANY frame of a movie and paint it on a EZK Picture, and many more...
It will be released asap privately and as soon as it's main functions are tested it will be posted to the public

EzLink NG MediaCenter test version FCLage 2005/4/12
A new private test version is available and it is now compatible with MediaCenter players like Transtechnology DVX-500E.

It also has some bugfixes, improvements and new features over existing public version.

Right now all existing EzLink NG versions (both private version and public) have Video Reencoding On The Fly, enabling you to play WMV, ASF and OGM on your players.
As soon as the required functions are finished, the reencoding on the fly detection will be extended to DIVX/XVID QPEL, Intel Indeo, QuickTime, and many others, enabling you to watch almost ANY video content and format available on the Internet, even if your player doesn't support it natively.

Public «private» version FCLage 2005/4/7
I've decided to move the private VROTF release to the current public version.
It is identical to the one that has been tested for almost 1 month now, but it has some improvements and bugfixes over previous PUBLIC version.
This release is dated almost 1 month ago, so please note that many things have been done since this release, but I decided to have this test version (dated March 10th, 2005) available to everyone.

May 2005 will be the target release month for the EzLink NG Alpha 4 version, with many improvements over this version (from faster reencoding, to stability, to compatibility, to graphics, etc).
Alpha 4 will be the last alpha version to be made available.
After that comes the beta stage that should be a lot quicker than the alpha stage.

Please remember to read the WHATSNEW document and check EzLink NG forum.

Have fun watching WMV, ASF and OGM's on your DP-500/508/558/1500/1504 players.

It was released on March 23rd 2005. It weights 3.7Mbytes and is only for PAL systems.

Video Reencoding on the Fly FCLage 2005/3/14
A video-reencoding-on-the-fly (VROTF) version is being tested privatly.

If you wish to know how to get it, please send me an email.

Current VROTF version enables you to watch WMV, OGM and ASF on any KiSS network DVD player (500/508/558/1500/1504).

Soon it will also include QPEL (and other unsupported video and audio codecs) reencoding on the fly.
VROTF only works with a pro license. Please remember to include your registration name in the email if you want this release
