First of all, check if you have a stable system and directshow path.
Use the following applications to check up your system stability in directshow:
* Filmerit - http://www.free-codecs.com/download/Filmerit.htm - (freeware)
* CodecSniper available here: [Download - No install needed] - (freeware)
* You can also try Sherlock - The codec detective http://www.updatexp.com/sherlock-codec-detective.html - (freeware)
If the above applications don't solve the problem:
EzLink NG provides a testing for video reencoding to garantee the stability of the service when video reencoding
If your tests fail, it can be due to one (or more) of these causes:
a) You have unstable or incompatible Directshow installed in your system
b) You have unstable or incompatible CODECs installed in your system - Use CodecSniper or Sherlock available in the links page
c) You don't have MS MPEG4v3 codec installed
d) You don't have a DIVX/XVID decoder installed. - http://www.divx.com/ or http://www.xvid.org/
e) You don't have DirectX 9+ installed - http://www.microsoft.com/directx/
A) How can I check the directshow filters I have installed?
You can check them by Running EzLinkNG Movie Player using START-Programs-EzLink NG-Movie Player, and open a file (DIVX AVI) of your choice and click on the [+] button. A window should appear like this one:

If you have more items than the one presented here then it means that the directshow path is being changed to those filters causing possible incompatibilities and unstability. Try to uninstall or disable those directshow filters and make the same test.
You can email me a snapshot(*) of the "DirectShow Path" window so I can provide you a detailed report on what could be causing the problem
b) How can I check the VIDEO CODECs I have installed?
There are also some known codecs
that cause the PC to crash in several applications.
You can check what codecs you have installed in your system using the following
steps:
1) Open Control
Panel
2) Click on Sound and Audio devices

3) Click on the "Hardware" tab on top

4) Double click on Video Codecs
![]()
5) Click on Properties
![]()
6) You'll have a list of all the VIDEO codecs installed in
your system (not the same as directshow filters)
You can email me a snapshot(*) of the window so I can provide you a detailed report on what could be causing the problem.
C) MS MPEG4v3 Missing
Video Reencode requires MS MPEG4v3 installed in your system. You can install it manually by running the "UC_MS-MPEG4_PACK.EXE" present in C:\Program Files\EzLink\Original\Reencoding folder. You can optionally download it from: http://www.undercut.org/msmpeg4/
Make sure you run the install pack with an user w/ administration access
D) What to do if you don't have a DIVX/XVID decoder?
Just install one - it's free. You
can use XVID 1.0.3 (open source) or DIVX 5/6 to decode all XVID/DIVX media.
You can download DIVX by visiting www.divx.com
.
You can download XVID by visiting www.xvid.org
You can also visit www.doom9.org for more codecs and informations
E) DirectX 9
Just install it from www.microsoft.com/directx homepage. You can check what directx version you have by running "dxdiag.exe"
(*) How to take a snapshot of a window

PRTSCR key (next to Pause and Scroll Lock )
Then open an application such as PaintBrush, Word, Outlook, etc and select
EDIT->Paste.
